December

10th    8AM – Noon Visual, 1PM – 6PM Sub-sections and Ensemble

17th    8AM – Noon Visual, 1PM – 6PM Sub-sections and Ensemble - $150 DUE

January

7    8AM – Noon Visual, 1PM – 6PM Sub-sections and Ensemble

21    8AM – Noon Visual, 1PM – 6PM Sub-sections and Ensemble - $200 DUE

February

    4th    RMPA EVAL SHOW – ALL DAY

11    8AM – Noon Visual, 1PM – 6PM Sub-sections and Ensemble

    18th     RMPA SHOW #1

25    8AM – Noon Visual, 1PM – 6PM Sub-sections and Ensemble - $150 DUE

In 2014 the WGI world was turned upside down with the exhibition by the Aimachi Winds at the WGI Championships! Now Altitude Winds is joining the ranks of performers in this new and exciting category! Joining our incredibly successful Altitude Percussion ensemble, we are proud to offer the very best in performing and educational opportunities for all of the young performers of the Colorado Springs and southern Colorado area!

WHAT INSTRUMENTS WILL BE INCLUDED?

WGI is allowing any standard concert band or orchestral instrument to be used in the new WINDS category. We are accepting auditions in the following instruments:

  • Flute or piccolo
  • Bb Clarinet
  • Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophone
  • Trumpet
  • French Horn
  • Trombone or Baritone
  • Tuba
  • Bass Guitar
  • Piano
  • Aux. Percussion

We will have several positions set aside for a small 'front ensemble" which will include several piano or synthesizer players, a bass guitar and a multi-percussionist.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE COMPETE?

Altitude Winds will compete in the Rocky Mountain Percussion Association Circuit, with shows all over Colorado. We will also participate in the Denver WGI Regional Competition and the WGI Championships in Dayton, Ohio!
